When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning all,
Just wondering if we're going to get a double post as I type, but wanted to get on and say good morning as I've been such a poor dfw all week.
It's my birthday today - all quiet so far, but started in the nicest possible way. I woke up on my own, and had half an hour entirely to myself with a cuppa before either of the kids got up.
As it's birthday and we're out tonight, probably not the most dfw day but there are always the small things.
 check bank
 check surveys
 birthday money straight into wedding fund
 kids at granny's overnight tonight so they'll be fed and watered there.
 Shopping at Ald!
 Don't blow the diet.
Gutted that the sun has gone and it's piddling down with rain here today - first day of my hols rather typically.
Hope everyone has a good day!

Check TCB, nothing probably will have changed!
Sort out postings for next week
Go for eye test later on today... need to check Specsavers are doing 241 a min though!
Update MS Money
Revise for AAT exam on Tuesday

Mind if I join you all? I feel I need a 'to do list' of sorts
- Do monthly shop, getting only what's on my list!
 - Check bank and put any DDs that have gone out into my spending log
 - Resist the temptation to buy a bottle of wine tonight
 - Take only a tenner with me when going for lunch with my friend tomorrow
 - Do 2 x job applications (counts as moneysaving as they're for better paid jobs than I currently have
) - Visit the gym x 2 (counts as MSE as going more often reduces the 'cost per use', also makes sure my clothes still fit me!)

            Hello :j
Happy birthday Wannabee
For me today so far:
Bit of shopping in Mr S, didn't need much
Got anti-moth stuff in Mr W to put in my trunks and cupboard on top of the stairs so that I can put away winter clothes and thick throws etc to keep them nice for next year. Not all the winter clothes though as it freezing here today
Wandered round the charity shops and got a few bits, very little spent.
Went to B&Q with OH and spent a small fortune on the things we need to renovate the shower in the ensuite
Walked to the dry cleaners to take my winter coat but it was closed when I got there  Still, it doubled as a dog walk.
Still to do:
Stuff out of the freezer to make spinach and feta pie and plum cake, so better get on with those.
Empty (finally) big chest freezer in garage and ask DD to tell me for definite whether she wants it. If not freecycle it or give to charity.
Put some clean winter things away with moth killer to keep the nasty critters away
Find the phone number for the kitchen fitters and ring them to come and fix ANOTHER leak under the sink  The kitchen itself is fine, but as for the cowboys they sent to fit it!!!!:mad:
Ooh, too many grumpy faces :D0 -
happy birthday wannabe - hope you've had a lovely day
Spent about 90 quid in mr asda s today - couple of outfits for dsd and my cousins baby along with some food bits though too!
Oh had to work today - so been on my Larry lonesome for most of the day - went to see a friend and her hubbie came over to car and said they breakingp. Up - so feel very sad for them both .
Hungry horse using mt t vouchers today as yesterday the neighbours popped round - as we were about to go out - bit they got a Chinese take out in for us :-)

Good evening everyone. I have been missing for the last few days as things have just been so hectic here what with work commitments and wedding plans, however everything seems to be falling into place now (I think).
On Thursday I managed a low spend day and only really spent money on lunch out with a good friend and also paid the deposit on my wedding reception.
Friday was a good day as I managed to get some additional work and completed some work. I also managed to have a low spend day and only paid for lunch out with some friends and a deposit on the kilts for oh and ds to wear at the wedding.
To be honest I do not know where today has gone as I don’t seem to have got much done. Today I have managed to:
:)Emails all up to date
:)Completed survey spreadsheet and claimed rewards £10 m&s (going to use on wedding cake), £10 b&q (going to use for wood to make boxes for some of the veg plants) and £3 paypal.
:)Done some volunteer work
:)Ordered the wedding invitations and looked at some wedding dresses
:)Done food shopping for dd
:)Wrote up meal plan for next week
:)All meals from stores today (make a change as usually have a take away on Saturday night)Aiming to get Debt Free.0
