Hi
Wondering if anyone has any advice for me as I am bit confused!!
I claimed back my PPI on a loan I have (finishes in Oct 2012)The loan is with Bank of Scotland and I claimed this back in Nov last year through a company (Investor Compensations). Total awarded was £384.08 and my monthly payments were reduced accordingly, therefore in my mind, all settled and closed.
Today, I have received a letter from Bank of Scotland, with a loan reference number (not the loan I currently have) stating that they will offer me £1807.67 in relation to my complaint about PPI. Very good news but I have not made a claim!!
The reference given on the letter states "Belmont Thornton Reference". I have never had any dealings with this company (unless they are a part of the original company I used "Investor Compensation"?) and this is not a loan reference number I am aware of have only ever had the one loan with Bank of Scotland.
Very confused! Can anyone help with this? Has anyone else had something similar?
Thank you

Hi there
You need to contact the bank about this, and tell them you cannot recall in using a company or this company at all, especially for this stated account.
When you first stated about they sent you an offer, maybe that is because banks are now expected to look through customers accounts checking if they were sold and think mis sold PPI.
If this is the case then this may be why you received a letter of offer.
I would contact them on this though and ask where does that claims company come in to it.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
