Data usage in iPhone 4

My wife has got an iphone 4 and usually uses about 50mb of data a month. This month she has gone through her 500mb in 2 weeks. I have gone on the O2 website and there was a usage at midnight last saturday of 497mb. I know she wasn't on her phone then as we were in bed asleep by 10.30.
Is there anyway of finding out what this usage would have been?

Did she leave an app on that is data-hungry?0

Not that I know of. She only looks on facebook and plays words with friends. Also we have wifi in the house that is never switched off.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

I've had a similar problem. Had my iphone 4 for over a year and never gone over the data limit per month but in February I went over in the first 2 weeks. O2 showed usage at midnight while I was sleeping.
How is it that data usage is huge even when there is a wifi connection turned on?
I've taken to switching off my data and only using wifi at home. My usage this month has reduced by two thirds!"Beer. Now there's a temporary solution." Homer (Simpson)0 -
If you have both wifi and mobile data turned on, have a look at the Internet connection symbol at the top left when your iPhone is locked - on mine, in the morning, it always seems to be connected via mobile data (a 'o', I have 3G turned off), until I unlock it, when it connects to wifi. It's very odd.0

I know of two ways to keep track of this.
1.
Every month on the day of bill, go to "Settings / General / Usage / Cellular Usage". Reset this and it will be real time accurate.
2.
Install the Dataman Pro utility.
Personally, I think Apple should add an option to disable cellular data when a metric gets exceeded.0 -
Does the iBrick have an option to switch itself off when you go to bed and come back online when you have woken up?0

Onavo Extend all the way baby!! This somehow condenses the amount of data you use0

My partner had a similar issue a few weeks ago, however she uses Orange rather than o2. She couldn't understand how she had gone so far over her limit when she had barely used it. She should have asked if Orange could have provided some kind of breakdown for her really.
As mentioned above, we've found the best thing is to just rely on the wifi when at home to avoid using all her data allowance. Plus I'm on a contract with three mobile which gives me unlimited data and tethering, so I've actually set my phone so that it acts as a hotspot when we are out and about together!0
