I need a new pc.
Cheap and cheerfull. I'm a silver surfer so do not do games.
Email, Googling and research is all I really need.
Tower and LCD moniter.

Dell factory shop. do good value . But in truth most pc's will do the above . I have the same use on my machine and its a veleron 700 from 6 years agao . The only differnce is the screen is crt not lcd0

I've just bought a new Vista machine from https://www.komplett.co.uk and am very happy with it. I would say Vista is worth considering if you have a digital camera or camcorder as the built in apps for those are much nicer than in XP.

How about a nice Apple Mac tower with G4 processors? Complete freedom from viruses, spyware etc.

The new iMacs are good value too, or like Moneymaker says, you could go with a 2nd hand or refurb Mac.0
