Facebook - Timeline to be compulsary by midnight.

For those of you who simply cannot stand this new Timeline setting that Facebook insist you use, by midnight tonight it becomes compulsory and you are bluntly told if you dont like it, delete your account.

Not wanting to be forced into using such an awful app to use Facebook, I found a cure that works. Be weary of an app on FB called "Remove Timeline", as it is a spam link that does not work.

It would appear that Timeline does not like IE7, regardless of your browser, there is an add on that fools FB into thinking you are using IE7 and thus defaults you back to the original format the majority of us are familiar and happy with.

Its a switch-able app that you can enable\disable whenever using Facebook, worth installing if like me you dont like Timeline.

Its only facebook "fan pages" that are being converted to Timeline today, personal profiles are being converted in batches, not all the same day, and you will get an automated email from facebook telling you what your conversion date will be. Facebook have not yet publically specified a deadline by which they will be converting everyones personal profiles to timeline.

BTW this solution doesnt work for disabling Timeline on Fan Pages, it only works on personal Timeline pages, but thats good enough for me, i mean who visits fan pages that often anyway?

folks see your timeline as a homepage
you still see your newsfeed unless you choose to go on the timeline page
