Seller gone AWOL?

I bought a phone of a seller with 31 feedback all positive for selling phones in the past. Before I bid I emailed him about something but got no reply, but because he had decent feedback I bought it anyway, paid straight way and emailed him just to make sure all was fine, no reply, So yesterday I email him again, no reply, I email him this morning no reply. So I opened a case through Paypal stating.
To see if that shifts him out of silence, Am I right to be worried? When I buy something of eBay I always make contact with the seller just to be sure, I've had this happen once before, in the end the guy never appeared and I got a refund but it took ages.
Is he alive? Is he dead? Nobody knows as he doesn't reply to emails!

how long ago did you buy the item? Is the seller active - do they have other items for sale or are they bidding on/left feedback for other items?0

On Wednesday, next day Special Delivery meaning should of got it yesterday or today, No he has nothing else for sale, hasn't had anything else for sale since Jan and left no feedback since Jan.
Checking his previous feedback you get things like FAST DELIVERY, SPEEDY DELIVERY etc, he also only has listed Nokia phones which fits in with mine, even down to the font used so its not a hijacked account0 -
You can get his phone number from ebay & give him a ring.

Ok, I pulled the sellers number and phoned it, the number goes straight to an answer machine, I also did a search pipl.com for the person, Nothing found.0

If he doesn't respond to the paypal dispute (after it's been escalated), the case will automatically be closed in your favour and you will be refunded.0

Right I text the guy and got a delivery report, waited a while for a reply but nothing, I then decided to phone again, it rang then stopped, he must of hit call reject0
