How soon would you expect a survey to be arranged?

Hello

Well the title says it all really.

I'm just wondering roughly how long after accepting an offer it normally takes for a buyer to arrange a survey.

I can't remember from when we bought the property but I do remember it was arranged via our mortgage lender.

Any ideas?

when my motrgage was done it took i think 3 days to get the survey done, it doesn't take that long at all. I'd give them a week then chase up to see when they are planning on having it done

Depends how quickly your buyer gets there mortgage application sent to the bank. Most motivated buyers will get this done straight away, and then I would say you are looking at about 1 week to 1 and a half for the survey, but it will depend on the lender and how busy they are.

I remember putting an offer in on Monday, getting accepted that night, rang the surveyors on Tuesday, they did the survey on Wednesday and I had the report on Thursday via email and Saturday the printed version.

Once I got the survey done and was happy with it, I then instructed the bank to complete my mortgage application (only AIP until then). Don't think I'd ever arrange a mortgage before a satisfactory survey.
  • As above really. Offer accepted on Tuesday, phoned the lender, surveyor in on Friday, report by middle of the following week.
