ParkingEye - Never pay them (or any other PPC) a penny

Options
Just a quick post to reiterate the message that you should never pay ParkingEye (or any other PPC) a penny when they issue you an invoice. I concur with the general advice to ignore and my experience 100% backs this up as sound advice. No matter what others may say or how intimidated you feel, never pay up and simply retain the letters and ignore them - you should feel happy that they are wasting time, effort and money in pursuing you for a bogus claim.

I was issued with a fake invoice last year by ParkingEye for overstaying in a free car park by ~10 minutes. This was an honest mistake and had I been requested to pay the £1 ticket for overstaying I would have done so even though there is no legal basis / reason for me to do so. Instead this fake invoice demanded £50 rising to £80 rising to £110. I subsequently received the usual reminder and final warning (scary :)) letters full of hollow threats and wrong psuedo-legal mis-information. No contact since and proof that this is a true scam by money grabbing vultures that prey on the uninformed and the vulnerable.

I hope this message is loud and clear - ignore their threats and never pay them. It worked for me and will work for you.

Hope this helps,
ParkingLie

Thanks for sharing your good outcome - glad they have !!!!!!ed off and left you alone!

Can I ask roughly how long the whole process lasted? (From ticket issue until the last letter)

    Thanks!
  • Got the first letter roughly 1 week after the "offence". The following letters arrived over a rough 6 - 8 week period (some within a day of each other!). Haven't heard from them in well over 6 months.

Deep down I am hoping they are preparing their case to take me to court (as the last letter suggested) but I suspect they have instead moved on to the next victim.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to come back here and let the newcomers to the situation know that the advice we give here is the way to go.

You have it about right. Sadly, the uninformed and the vulnerable is a surprisingly large group of people (probably the majority of the public) because statistics suggest that as many of 60% of all PPC tickets are paid at the first time of asking and this goes up to 70% of all of them are ultimately paid following a few letters.

Make sure you tell as many people as you can about the reality of these invoices. :T
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Yes. Therein lies the secret of (eventually) putting the crooks out of business.

Do not keep it to yourself- tell everyone you know. And tell them to tell everyone THEY know.

    And so on.

LOL, I guess they are frantically trying to work out what they are taking you to court for, and how they actually go about doing it. So yeah, judging by everything on here expect another final warning in a year or so when they realise the only chance they have is by begging!
