Fruit bushes in pots

I have grown a stemmed gooseberry in a pot for the last 5 years and itsalways given me fruit. I have finally it's been able to into the ground. And it looks pretty happy. I should think you get better yield if you grow in the ground but as long as it has a big pot and you feed it it's worth trying it in pots if you cannot put it in the ground.Moved to Denmark for FIRE by Aug 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

Most fruit bushes prefer to be in the ground. They'll do fine in pots as long as you use a big pot, proper John Innes No3 compost and feed and water correctly but they'll do even better in good garden soil.Val.0

Depends what sort they are. If they are blueberries then they will need an ericaceous compost and wlil not thrive well in open ground0
