Great thread - and a good reminder that it is worth the effort of putting the vinegar in the tank. The great thing about using vinegar in the tank is that it helps to keep it fresh (ie not smelling) - a real bonus when you have 3 boys living at home, lol.

My Update:
Yes I should get out more, I do hate lots of chemicals and had just bought a large 5 ltr bottle of vinegar, cheap cola and 3kg Bi -Carb. I think that the reason I looked was because I do want to change from heavy chemicals but wanted to be sure that "better" chems would do a good job too & found that the heavy chems were not doing a good job!!
Anyway - 1 loo is now limescale free as far as I can see anyway and I wouldn't be ashamed of it if it was sitting in a skip outside my house (have you seen the state of some of them) and I just have 1 more loo to do. I hated cleaning it but afterwards I felt very satisfied at the good job I had done.
BUT I did dream of scrubbing the loo.LOL.
VERY INTERESTING....NO ONE HAS TAKEN UP MY CHALLENGE!!!
also WHO is Anthea Turner ??

Hadn't thought of that one....even better, feed them in the bath. Save on a lot of mess! :rotfl:0 -
Vinegar... can I ask some of you wise people what sort of vinegar you use? I am also going off the idea of using 'artificial' chemicals to clean the house, and keep hearing about the magic properties of white vinegar. I was in Macro today and thought I'd be sure to be able to buy industrial quantities of the stuff, but was confounded by the choice ! Is white vinegar just 'distilled' malt vinegar or is it something special? And where is the best place to buy it?
Thankyou !
You spent twenty thousand francs on this !!!!!!??
