ebay added warranty to my listing?

At least that's what it looks like or have I made a gaff somewhere?

I'm selling a dab radio that was a xmas pressie that we've never used, listed as used though just because it's been sitting here in a box and moved from cupboard to cupboard etc.

I have removed the warranty box when I did the listing but when I look on ebay it has a drop down box offering warranty for £10.99 :eek:

How to I remove it please?

You can't remove it, eBay sell their own warranties to customers, so it has nothing to do with the one you removed from the box.

Thank *insert deity of choice* for that. I was trying to work out how I could provide one if needed. Very trusting of ebay.

You cant remove them but frankly they are downright cheeky for adding them without informing the seller....and buyers are left thinking its you who is offering the warranty...so if the warranty turns out to be rubbish....who gets the blame.

You can add a note on the listing stating that the warranty is automatically added by Ebay and is not a service offered by you.

We are selling an old laptop for £30, eBay have added the warranty option, but the warranty would cost the buyer an extra £41.99:rotfl::rotfl:

It's very rare that I sell electricals on Ebay so to see they are automatically adding their own "Warranty" to your listing is somewhat useful to them but not so for you. Do people seriously purchase items of low value (£100 and below) and add on say a £40 Warranty? seems idiotic to me. As I am aware if a £100+ item was paid for by credit card then the credit card company is jointly liable if goods fail the Sale of Goods Act, search Martin's SAD FART test.

I am selling a cd player and Ebay have added the warranty to my listing - first I heard of it! So glad to have found this thread and realise that I did not do something wrong when listing, but it has taken me a while to realise that. I have added a line to the listing saying the warranty is offered by Ebay, not me and hopefully it will not put any buyers off. I think Ebay are a bit arbitrary in their actions - everything geared towards buyers and to *ell with the sellers.

Idk but I paid £15 for a 2-year warranty for a secondhand digital camera on eBay, because I've never had a digital camera that lasted me as long as 2 years without developing any faults so it seemed worthwhile. The camera is still functioning as it should after several months so far.
