Hope no-one has already placed this, but I looked and couldn't see it.
When I was in Sainsburys' with my Mum today we were stopped by a chap trying to get us to switch to Sainsburys' gas and electricity. After having a quick word with him, it ends up that Sainsburys are just selling on packages direct from British Gas - if you're already with British Gas for either or both utilities:
a) check to see if you can get a better deal (of course)
and
b) register your Nectar card - you will get points regardless of whether you sign up in a store or direct with British Gas. If you're with British Gas already and haven't registered try calling them or simply register the card online if you manage your account that way.
I guess most people already know this, I just mention it because we got a slightly better deal in store than we did direct, which surprised me. Admittedly, it works out at just over £1.10 per month saved, but at least that's in our pockets, not theirs!
