How apt.
What an attention seeking post.
You forgot to tell us about your farmhouse. Remind me, how much did you pay for it ? Or don't you want to issue one of your "cuddle seeking" posts this evening ?30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

Such bitter envy.
Typical of British society nowadays I suppose, where being successful like RenoMan can't be mentioned nor celebrated.
This whole 'bear' thing has !!!! all to do with house prices. It's pure envy of those who were more successful in life.0 -

I have great respect and admiration for those who are successful, but keep fairly quiet about it.
I have been relatively successful myself, compared to some of my friends and family, but I don't go round reminding them of it. Some of them have been more successful than me, but again, they don't mention it.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. What is interesting is that I don't mention my financial details anywhere near as much as DervProf mentions my financial details.
This thread is a very good example. I have not mentioned a word about my personal details, indeed before this post I never mentioned a even a 'word'! Yet DervProf starts going on about my house, etc.
Have you also noticed he always says he doesn't envy my financial position, he just posts about it because he doesn't like people to discuss personal finances on this financial website - yet he never targets anyone else who mentions their financial details. Bit inconsistent that. :rotfl:0 -
P.S. As an aside, DervProf hates 'people' to discuss ther financial details on this board, yet somehow I know that he has an offset mortgage that completely covers his mortgage (effectively making him mortgage free) and that he has extensive cash savings and invests into a personal pension that is large enough to offer a very comfortable retirement. Yet DervProf only posts on this board (apart from those couple of times he stalked me onto the other boards I frequent), so how on earth do I know these financial details!!!????? I can only assume because DervProf has posted his personal financial details on this board where he doesn't like 'people' to post personal financial details!
What a hypocrite!! :rotfl:0 -

Because I mentioned them just a few times, in context or when asked. Which is a bit different than mentioning it multiple times, on multiple threads, whenever the opportunity arises.
And even when I did mention some of those details, you suggested that I was failing in some way, or indeed jealous of you because you (apparently) are considerably richer than me.
Now, you clearly don't like me pointing out that I think you are a show off, and I clearly don't like you being a show off. And you seem to have some quite twisted thoughts going through your mind, I read one of your posts the other day, depicting a scene of a lonely death, followed by the corpse being discovered covered in rats. I think you may have been suggesting that will be the way I end up (although you didn't directly suggest it).
Dear me, I really have got to you, haven't I ?
It seems that anyone who dares to question your motives for being here, are met with rather unpleasant responses. Are you really such an unpleasant character, or is this just an online thing ?30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0
