I had an Egg credit card, Over 6 years ago.
I don't have any of the paperwork and the account is now closed but remember having payment protection on it. Can I claim and if so how?

You mean complain. Not claim. Claim is what you do when you suffer an event that the insurance covers you for.
If you have a complaint then you are welcome to make it. Your issues are going to be that Barclaycard bought the Egg credit card book and tend to only have documents on the open accounts at time of purchase and not closed accounts. So, if your complaint requires evidence you cannot supply then it will probably fail in that scenario.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
