PPI on loans from 2000/01

I agreed to PPI on a couple of loans from the Halifax back in 2000 and 2001. I paid both of them off early by the end of 2002. Other than the loan provider and original amounts borrowed I have no idea or paperwork or other details to fall back on.
I'm guessing I have very little or no chance of making a claim based on the info I have but I thought I would ask if its worthwhile even attempting to claim?......thanks for any advice.

I think these would be difficult to pursue.
However, people have successfully complained about PPI from the 1990's, so it's not an impossible task.
Lack of any supporting paperwork is a distinct disadvantage. You'd also need to have legitimate and verifiable reasons for complaint.0 -
Thanks for the reply. The total amounts I guess would struggle to reach £1000 so I think I will just let it go.Current MFD 1st July 2026

Also, when you repay the loan early, they refund part of the PPI as part of the redemption figure.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Just a footnote to this one. Finally printed off and filled in the forms, got a small rebate of £184. Not bad for half an hours work and the price of a stamp!Current MFD 1st July 2026
