Who do I get quotes from for small retaining wall in garden?

We want to build a small retaining wall approximately 3 bricks high + foundations in our garden. It is 6meters wide. Just want a straight wall with steps inset in the middle.
Do I:
(a) Attempt to build this myself - seem to be plenty of guides on the internet and I presume I can but bricks from builders merchants.
(b) Get quotes from a builder/ bricklayer. Local paper has people advertising and there is a bricklayer building a large garden wall further down our street whose work looks very good.
(c) Ask for quotes from a landscape gardener/ garden person.
I have never done anything like this before, I have no idea on cost so any guide prices would be appreciated. I have no idea how long it would take me or a pro to do the work.
Thanks for any advice :j

Talk to the guy down the road. I would estimate a 2 day job.
Laying bricks is not easy, although such a project would be a good starting point. You would end up with a "rustic" look.0 -
A half day to get foundations in, a half day to build the wall the next day. Get the brickie down the road, let us know what his quote is.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Cheers folks, he came today and quote coming in the next week. He thinks it needs to be thicker than 1 course and is quoting for breeze blocks behind and bricks in front.0
