Driving Economically.

Fuel consumption fell this fill-up, down to 47 mpg's.....guess I've not been paying quite so much attention to economical driving this week?
[too much acceleration in 3rd to 60, before dropping into 5th gear?]
I have been using Shell petrol of late......a Shell spot not too far from my-place-of-work sells [petrol] at a price within 1p per litre, of the local supermarket prices...[Willerby, for those-in-the-know]...
I wonder whether using branded fuel instead of supermarket fuel makes any difference to economy? The car doesn't run any differently, but Shell do claim to have certain additives, don't they? [phylllosan, for example?]No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
I've found the premium stuff does on my petrol turbo car as less throttle needed to get the same acceleration.I use tesco 99 in that as the extra ron also gives better detonation protection.
I don't bother with the premium stuff in my diesel as I don't drive it quickly and have been happy enough with it's economy on the basic supermarket stuff.0
