I think it was some others who thought you weren't satisfied with my answer at post #2.;)Cafelatte1 wrote: »Hi - as I am a newbie, I am a bit slow in replying. Sorry for the misleading title re my query but it seems like my question has been answered - so thanks very much.
I actually had a letter from the Ombudsman last week , apologising for the delay. So I will just patiently wait.
Yeah, it really is just a waiting game for everybod:(
By the way, your "misleading title" is probably the reason it's had so many off-topic replies!!!:D0 -
Cafelatte1 - applaud your patience just be aware in my experience the FOS meeting of self set expectations and managing expecations, since has been chronic.
l too, have a medical insurance issue with the fos and followed their rule book and researched details and background in depth.
First things first PFI did mushroom the volume of claims BUT so did the associated increase in staff. Particular focus was made of progressing the non PFI claims within the originally set timescales before the PFI issues caught fire.
l have a very simple straighforward claim that has the fos initially found in my favour within 6 months but has been appealled by the medical company. We are now 18 months later and waiting.
As this breached fos's own timing, fairness & equity rules l have gone through the 3 step complaint process. The headshed can not comment until the outcome of the case is resolved so l await.
Ironically my case was FASTTRACKED to the Ombudsmans queue nearly 2.5 months ago and they said 3 months max to respond. In 2 weeks 3 months is up and l do not expect thing to get better.
My advice is keep detailed notes, be diligent and maybe they will eventually respond.
Medical or any other company knows the system is chronically failing and takes full advantage to delay and try to avoid P&L costs.
