Thanks to everyone - last time I looked at my clock it was 4:40am so I feel a bit rough this morning, thank god I'm on annual leave. Anyway, here goes:
Outgoings each month:
For My New House
Abbey Mortgage £540.20 (2yr fixed rate Oct 06-Oct 08 @ 4.99%)
Halifax Buildings/Contents £13.67
Electric £10
Lloyds Loan - £160.21 - Last payment due on 01/04/07 :j
Fuel - £120 - Can't get round this, since I moved in with parents am further from work, but car is diesel and old but very economical.
Insurance and tax due again in May, but fully paid at moment.
Living with parents - free, including washing/packaged lunch/food/electric/upkeep of car (dad is mechanic)
Have overdraft with Lloyds for around £4000 costing me between £50-£60 per month. Have around £3200 with Monumnet Credit Card after 0% expired and paying around £40-£50 per month interest with them. Pay off as much as I can on credit card and attempt to reduce overdraft. Not even addressed debt to parents yet.
I do mystery shopping and gain between £40-£50 profit with them each month. I treat this is a bit of a luxury and get any clothes (Primark) or if I want to go to cinema (very rare) I use this. If I don't get any mystery shopping, I dont have any luxuries (if you can call it that). I normally get the mystery shopping meals/nightclubs which is my nightlife! Wages are £1234 each month, but I get extra because I get paid mileage which varies each month. Payrise in April too.
Rung my loan company today (the one which has nearly gone) and they said given my previous good history as I never missed paymnet on loan they can do me on at 7.9% (pending credit search) for 5k over 3 years £156.69.
Do I take it and risk another credit search - what other options are there to clear my debt. My credit file must be in a mess as tried a couple of 0% cards and was knocked back. Had my experian credit file a few days ago, must find it and will report back.

I'm 26 and have just bought a house I can't afford to live in either yet
Live with my parents too. Seems like we're victims of house price rises

But at least we got on property ladder! Managed to get detached bungalow in Northwich, Cheshire for £123,000, may just scrape a terrace for that now!
Need to get myself out of my debts though before I move out. If I move with the debts I'll never be debt free.0 -
So that's 2 uninhabited properties owned by people who can't afford to live in them? - increasing demand and reducing supply. Not so much victims of house price rises as contributors, I'm afraid...betti911 wrote:I'm 26 and have just bought a house I can't afford to live in either yet

Anyway, back on topic, please don't worry too much about it rachelandgromit. Just think of it as a means to an end. You're very fortunate that you have parents who are willing and able to shelter and financially support you while you get yourself back on track. As frustrating and restrictive as it may be, other people are not so fortunate and will be struggling with their debt for a lot longer as a result. Chin up, it really could be a lot worse.

Sounds like a good deal! Agree with what's been written about above, it may feel very frustrating that you own a home and yet still forced to live at home but you're heading in the right direction which is what counts.
Ref the better rate on your loan, I wouldnt worry about a couple of credit searches on your file as they wont make much difference. Just be so very careful that if you use it to consolidate that you cut up those old cards! So tempting a few months down the line if you've still got them.Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
All thanks to :money:0
