I can't sleep and I feel like having a complain about things!

I'm struggling and I just feel like a rant to some-one. I'm trying to sort out my debt but I am so annoyed it feels like its not getting anywhere.
What may not seem alot to some people is to me, so please don't say it's not that much because it feels like it is to me! It's keeping me awake - it's 2:22 in the morning and I CAN'T SLEEP!!

I'm really annoyed because I'm trying to shift the balance of a credit card which 0% has jut expired onto another but can't as can't seem to get one and now ended up with lots of stuff on my credit file now

Been to Court with ex today as part of it his fault and now got to go to full hearing to prove it, also have £6k as part of a settlement against against builder but that could be months away. So, I want to be pro-active and do something in meantime as what I'm paying is not having any effect due to c.card interest and astonishing overdraft interest I'm paying.

I am employed full time in an ok job and also have a part-time job, reclaiming bank charges of £1300, prelim hearing on 26/03 so hopeful for payout then. One loan of £5k, £160 per month, only two months to go on that now (around £350) and that is paid. A £4k overdraft (why did the bank give it me!) and £3000 on a credit card now not 0% and £4500 owe to parents after they helped me with my deposit for my house which I need to pay them back - interest free thank god (they don't know about my other debts) - nil paid so far.

Plus points: living at parents (rent free), although at 26yrs old on a curfew of midnight! Have my house I bought last October but staying at parents, and house is 'unhabitable' at mo anyway, but am paying mortgage on it but little else. I will be at my parents until I'm 30 at this rate

Whats the chances of selling the house ? is there any equity in it ? how about a SOA of all your debts payments etc assuming that with the house you have costs like insurance / gas / elec / council tax / mortgage.

You need to stop the debts increasing before you can start tackling repaying them.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
    Mortgage - £2,000

  • Hi there, it sounds like you've had quite a tough day. I also can't sleep, is there a word for when things are churning around in your head? You sound as if you are financially savvy, however, and once all this has been settled you will be in a super position. So hold on, and hope that you get all the money coming in to you that you need fairly soon. Why is your house uninhabitable? Couldn't you have put in a tenant into your house in October - I've seen some really awful places for rent that I could barely step foot in? Anyway, very best wishes with it all - you can't do anything about it tonight - except to post here, which is a good thing! So could you get yourself a snack and a hot drink, which usually helps me, and try to relax yourself from your toes upwards, and tell yourself you're really really tired? (Not that any of that is working for me - but I had a migraine this a.m. and was asleep until 11:45!). Good luck! :)
  • 30 may not be that old but 30 and on a midnight curfew! Do you think if I'm still with the parents at 30 they will extend my curfew?

Selling the house!!!!! I've only just bought it after me and ex split and he bought me out, all money went into getting me a house and just managed to get on property ladder again. Got 12 months 'unhabitable' exemption so not paying council tax, not paying water as 'unhabitable' too. Paying £10 towards electric which is more than enough as not living in it, only up about x 2 a week doing DIY, no GAS/Heating payments, have buildings/contents insurance of £12. Mortgage is £540 per month on 2 year fixed rate of 4.99%.

Will post SOA tomorrow which will detail everything.

Think I might go and sleep now.

  • Good luck on posting the SOA. Its a wise move, you will get some good advice and see what situation your in.
You dont need to sleep when your "old" :)

    Good night.
  • Unhabitable - No kitchen, no bathroom (literally), half completed rennovation when I bought it - and now after my DIY definately not habitable! Can't afford tradesmen so doing it all myself - Thank God for B&Q's demos in store and multiskilled dads!

What I'm doing in the house isn't really costing me anything, e.g. wallpaper stripping, sanding. Not expensive jobs yet!!!!!!!!
