PPI REBATE or PPI Claim confusion!

Hi! Hoping someone might shed some light on this for me. My partner and I put in a claim with NatWest and their PPI team.

We received a letter yesterday with a rebate for our PPI for £646 which is no where near what we've paid on PPI over the past 5 years. We were unable to get through last night to question this. The letter spoke only of cancelling our PPI and no mention that we wanted to claim the money back.

They advised the rebate would be applied to the loan and hte payments now lowered.

Based on what we were paying for PPI over the past 5 years £646 comes no where near.

Can someone clarify if the Rebate is their way of saying here is what we think we owe you?!

THANKS..:rotfl:

ps we will ring this evening but thought might get the heads up on here first

You should get a refund of premiums plus interest for the period that they can prove payments were made.

On loans, not all PPI is front loaded. You dont say what type of PPI it is but that may be the reason.
