Great idea mickwoo
My other half took me in Jan as a surprise christmas present. We stayed in the Dream hotel which is officially in Midtown. amazing location, 2 min walk to central park, 5th avenue and times square, cheap taxi or longer stroll to the other sights.... the hotel has a spa attached to it, owned by Deepak Chopra, I would thoroughly recommend this, it is divine.
We booked direct through the hotel and not only negotiated a rate of around £100 per room per night but when we arrived they had upgraded us to a queen room. The rooms are lovely and the beds are amazing.
The nicest touch was a beautiful plant and bag of Deepak Chopra products and a handwritten note from the sales manager.
Please don't be put off by the website, we nearly were!!! It looks a bit weird, but i can assure you its not. it features in the Virgin brochure under the 'boutique' section. I cant recommend it enough. My friend booked a flight with ba recently for £265 all in which is good.
Have a great time!!!0 -
Hotel deals can be found on Travelzoo - and you can check up the hotel on tripadvisor.com. I have just booked a hotel at Times Square by using Travelzoo. The joy is that you can book it directly through the hotel and cancel it without incurring penalty if something better comes up nearer the time!0
