    Hi and welcome

I am having trouble searching at the moment, but hopefully someone will be along soon who will know, but failing that, google in Financial ombudsman service, and once your on the site, contact them under "contact us" on the free phone number, you could ring them and ask them, I'm sure they would have had dealings with them.

    Good luck.

    Hi everyone,

I had a successful claim, all I did was to email AMEX via my online account... (no need to mail to any postal address) they replied to say that will look in to it, a week after they say that they could not find records of my contract so they will pay me back everything (10 years) + interest. I was happy with it. Bellow the letter I sent:

    Dear Sir/Madam
I am a customer since October xxxx using your cars (Gold and Platinum). It comes to my attention that I have a payment protection plan that was included at the time of the application in October xxxx. It is not very clear to me if I really had a choice but I do remember that I felt I should have it so that my application can go through, therefore I believe that your sales person miss sold me payment protection plan.
Would you please facilitate me of a copy of the T&C signed by me at the time of my original application please and a calculation of how much I have paid until today with this payment protection product?
  • I tried emailing amex through my online account with a very similar email to the post above, but that hasn't worked for me. Despite not confirming that i agreed to the Protection insurance either by signing the form or over the phone when the card was activated (which i am sure that i did not), they said the T&C allows you to cancel insurance within 30 days or at any time in the future but without a refund for cover already provided. :( I don't know whether to pursue this further.
