Partner pays me towards rent/bills - is this taxable?

Hi the mortgage and bills etc are all in my name but my partner pays me £500 a month towards bills/rent
could anyone tell me if this is taxable?

If your partner was a lodger then you could deduct the cost of half of all of your bills so there would be little tax due anyway. Or you could use rent a room scheme which allows a £4250 fixed deduction and you pay tax on the remainder. but...your partner is your partner there is no tax due on payments between partners.:footie:
