  • If you are using IE, launch adobe reader, and disable the option to view in IE. (version 7.. control K, internet, untick display pdf in browser)

If you are using firefox, then there is a similar setting to use the reader instead of firefox plugin

If that doesn't work, download latest reader from adobe.com
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Does it happen just with PDF's that are on the internet or also if the PDF is on your hard drive?

i had this problem on my main pc. I used to get the message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem...." Drove me absolutely bonkers. I couldn't work out why it was doing it though. I totally removed Adobe 7 from my pc in the 'add/remove programmes' and downloaded Adobe 8. Not one problem since.
