http://www.rspb.org.uk/youth/join_in/competitions/naturediary.aspx
Keep a record of every fantastic wild thing you see, hear and touch this summer and then enter our nature diary competition.
You'd be amazed what you could find when you become a real nature detective, keeping a record of everything you've discovered.
Where?
You can do it in all sorts of places – at home, at your grandparents’, on holiday - anywhere really!
When?
Pick at least 10 different days to write about. Any 10 days will do - they don't have to follow each other, day after day.
What goes into a nature diary?
Well, you’ll need to write down what you have found. But you can also draw pictures, take photographs and stick things in you find, such as leaves and feathers (but no really smelly things please!).
Don’t worry if you think you can’t draw very well. Diaries are about what you see and feel, not what your drawings look like.
Here are a few things that every entry to your diary should have:
Date, including the year
Place
Time of day
Weather
Where you were
What wildlife you saw and how many of them
What could you win?
The winner of both the 8-12 and 13-18 age groups will win a fantastic iPad and the RSPB Birds of Britain and Ireland CD-ROM. Two runners-up will win either the CD-ROM or the book with the same title.
How to enter
You have until Friday 14 September 2012 to send us your entry to:
