Personally, if you are going to run the car until the wheels fall off, I'd take the cash and not bother with the repair. Car isn't worth anything anyway and they might well hit it again!

If he's local just put the message about on the grapevine about what a berk he is.

We did that with a car who did a hit and run and damaged our car. I found out it wasn't insured, and we told the local gossips. Car towed away. Bwahahahaha!
