My mum wants to sell her motorhome and I am not sure where to start to be honest.
She bought it 50/50 with someone who could drive (she cannot) so they could go on holidays but it looks like that person stitched her up and has used it but has never paid her anything so I think she has told them she wants it back and wants to sell it so there has been a bit of huffing and it needs to be moved off the other persons drive. This leaves her with a motorhome that she cannot drive anywhere - it is currently SORN. I assume once tax and tested it can be parked outside her home. It is a SWB motorhome.
So now she wants to sell it so I have told her that it is going to be worth getting 6 months tax on it (it has MOT) and we will insure it and we will come pick it up, get it in storage near us and we will help her sell it.
I went on gocompare and they have an annual policy for £282 with excess of £200 - I went on another site that gave me a months insurance and they wanted £400!!!! For a month!!
So I am not really sure where I go from here please. Can I get the insurance and then cancel it when the van sells? I understand that there will be an admin fee but I do not know if this kind of thing is allowed. I need to have insurance so someone can take it for a test drive - we could move it with a recovery lorry so collecting and moving elsewhere is not an issue but it can not be test driven then.
Any advice would be most appreciated please, thanks.

Insuring a motorhome for a month is a big risk.
They are stolen quite often and vanish without trace.
Whose name is the V5 in ?
Do the yearly policy and make sure the company you use have a sensible cancellation figure.
Your insurance is unlikely to cover uknown drivers for test drives. If they have cover on their own policy it will usually be 3rd party only, So wont cover any damage to your vehicle.
