caster sugar - cheap/alternative??

    You can use granulated sweetener but may need to adapt your recipe a bit as sweetener does not provide the bulk that sugar does. Don't replace it weight for weight or you will use about 10 times too much! Replace it by volume - 1 tbsp for 1 tbsp for example. Look at the Canderel site for ideas and recipes - doesn't matter if your sweetener is not canderel, the principles are the same.

    If a recipe calls for water, couldn't granulated sugar be dissolved in it?
