Hi there
Sorry for the delay in responding.
If you taken out the loan from Jan 14 2005 you may be able to make a claim through the Financial compensation Scheme (FSCS).
What year did you take out the loan, and please feel free to write down the business name, as this may help others who are looking to make a reclaim via the same company.
If the FSCS are only able to take on cases where accounts were covered by the FSA at the time you taken out the loan.
Failing that, you could contact the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) who will suggest another avenue to take, generally they suggest the underwriter/insurer of the company and they will check what involvement they may have had when the policy was sold to you (PPI).
So I take it, the broker are the ones gone down under?
You can then write to the lender to ask for a copy of the policy agreement, they will send them on request free of charge, and the details of the underwriter/insurer will be enclosed on that document.
FSCS.......if you want to contact them, to see if your eligible to make a reclaim through them, if so they will arrange to send you out the form, but as said above, otherwise contact the FOS.
Good luck.

Hi
Have you any paperwork that states you have PPI?
The loan agreement should enclose these details, but yes otherwise do request for a copy of the loan agreement by enclosing £1 postal order or cheque payment, ask they provide you with this by 12 days.
If you've no paperwork at all, you can optionally request for a Subject Access Request (SAR), letter template below, you enclose £10 cheque or postal order, and they have 40 calendar days to comply. If you were sold PPI, there should be evidence provided within the paperwork, and the agreement is the one you really want, because this is the document that will provide details of what your borrowing.

Maybe a copy of a signed application form would be useful.
Also details of Welcome in default, dealt with by the FSCS below.
