How long should we wait for a viewing?

hi all, in this economic climate of today, how long is reasonable to await a viewing from prospective buyers. we have it on with an internet EA but have had no viewers at all. The house has been on for 3 weeks now and is on the major sites. Is anyone else out there in a similar position and how long have you had to wait for a viewing please?

Which one, and which sites is it on?0 -
It generally comes down to price.
I had less than a handful of viewings at the initial price I put my property on for, then once I lowered it, I had about 25 viewings within a few weeks, and lots of offers.
If you've had nothing in 3 weeks, I'd lower the price.
Care to post a link?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
My father has had his house on the market for 3 months with not a single viewing! u are not alone. I think he is ready to drop the price, it is the only way...0

New property to the market will get interest if it has some stand-out feature. For most houses, this will be noticeable value against comparables.
Many sellers 'try the market' first and then lower their expectations. A very few get lucky. Conditions are not as they were 5 years ago, not only monetarily, but because on-line info and tools exist to make comparisons so much easier.

We bought in 2010 when the market was about as bad. We viewed our house the day it came on the market and offered the next day. We had waited 18 months for one to come on at a realistic (in our view) price. I had Rightmove email alerts set up to tell me every time a new property came on the market.
Are you sure your price is right? Search Rightmove in your price bracket and see what other search results people are comparing your house against when they look. Also, check the prices of similar houses that have sold recently.0 -
Ours has been on for 4 weeks now and no interest, during that time we dropped the price by 5k to generate some interest and because we had found a house we like and also been property of the week in the local paper but still no viewings which is disappointing.
Been dealt another blow also as a house a few doors up has gone on for a very low price, unsure why really however I know they have been in the house for 10-15 years so likely to have a lot of equity in it as lived through the rises in the 00s whereas ours was bought at the peak.0 -

With zero interest in the first 4 weeks I would suggest it is yours that is priced very high rather than theirs very low.
The problem is that if they sell, that price will become a benchmark. You might as well match it now.
It's all about price. I bought late last year and had waited the whole year for something sensibly priced (ie a good 20% less than the 2007 value). Sellers often seem to think that they should have made a profit for doing nothing while the market has fallen around them. Madness.0
