Has anyone bought a Wedding dress from JenJen House?

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this forum and got engaged a few weeks ago. I've started to look at wedding dresses on the internet as the prices are so reasonable. I am a bit apprehensive though, as I have heard horror stories about dresses ordered on the net. I found this site called JenJen House (sorry it won't let me post the URL) and the dresses seem too cheap to be true! I was wondering if anyone had ordered through this company before? I am slightly in love with a beautiful lace dress on their site!

Thanks in advance!

    ]Hi,
Can anyone tell me if jenjenhouse is ok. Bit worried now after reading reviews. I was going order 3 dresses at the end of the month. I knew about the customs and excise. Bit worried about the quality now. It's one of the only websites that's got the colour lilac that I want at a reasonable price.
  • If it's the quality of material you are worried about, I think you can order a sample from them before you order your dress/es. But I was a bit concerned about the quality of stitching too.

Although I did go into a wedding dress shop and they told me that their dresses are all made in China by companies like this one and shipped over. I guess you pay the big price tag for the peace of mind you get from seeing the sample in the shop.

    Decisions, decisions...

I decided not to use them, saw some bad reviews online about them. I didn't want to chance it with my wedding being in sept. thought if there was a problem I a wouldn't have much time to rectify the situation and b not have enough money.

I found a website called fairytale dresses based in Wrexham and they have some lovely dresses on there, I've ordered 3 with them and the girls are lovely. Slightly more expensive but I thought by the time I add postage, and tax then it wouldn't be all that different. They will not let you order the dresses until you have got some colour samples from them so you know your ordering the correct colour.

I had every intention of buying from one of the chinese sites, but i bought some bits - favours etc from Light in the Box and they were of really poor quality, so i bought my dress from a Wedding outlet - saving £1000 on the dress.

  • I was enquiring on behalf of a friend. She did indeed purchase a dress from Jen Jen and is very pleased with the dress. The only down side was that she had to pay the courier the import costs/taxes this end, this was not pointed out on site anywhere, so it added an extra £26 to the cost of her dress.

Thanks for replying to my query!

I am reluctant to use this site because of the various bad reviews, but I do really like one of the dresses. I can't post links, but it is style 002000599.
Has anyone seen something like this for under £300?
    Thanks

  • Hi there,

Although some of you may have had alright experience with the company, considering the price, I on the other hand have had a HORRIFIC experience...

First of all, they DON'T point out that the dresses are shipped from China, they specifically had options under regions to buy dresses from your area, which you would expect, naturally, to come from your area!!! The dresses were shipped from China and I had to pay £70.

The dresses looked like they had been made with one hand whilst driving...on a rocky road!!! They were horrific and looked NOTHING like the pictures on the website.I immediately contacted JenJen and asked about how I could return them and get a refund and they said that i should keep the dresses and that they would refund half the amount to me... these dresses were not fixable... and it was not my responsibility to make the dresses!! I then had to take 30 pictures to prove the faults and then they said I had to pay for the package to be sent back, and make sure I paid for all their custom charges in China or they would not refund the money.

First of all, the Post Office clarified that it is impossible to be able to say how much they may charge and I ended up paying £90 anyway!! So I tell them they must pay me back for the customs charges and return fees, to which they replied, Yes but with coupons to use on their site!

I would NEVER use their services again, they were unprofessional and I have filed an investigation with Paypal now to look into their manner of trading and their website which misrepresents many things, including their items as the dresses were nothing like what was sent to me.

I would HIGHLY recommend you don't go anywhere NEAR this website!

Good luck! I have been disputing with them for the past month now... they treat me like I'm some kind of a joke! It's a good thing I have kept records and pictures, print screens etc of everything...
  • Hi we are looking forward to our wedding in October in Cuba. After looking forward to my dream dress. Thought about buying online as we had heard from friends that they had some good results.

Beware! After ordering a £200 dress from Jen Jen house and looking forward to the day when it arrived I was very disappointed when it did!

It looked so cheap and the stitching was coming apart where the zip is at the back. There are different coloured beads and sequins on the front detailing. The waist band is uneven with different beads either side.

It came in a small box and was creased terribly with loads of loose threads. The overall quality was very disappointing.

I was very upset as I had spent a lot of time carefully deciding on my dress and was faced with a complete disaster on my hands.

I contacted Jen Jen House the day I received my dress after seeing the 7 day return policy. After sending many emails I had received no replies of help.

I then went through Pay Pal who promised a refund but was offered £80.00 by Jen Jen House which is insulting. I am still waiting a reply from Jen Jen House.

I have since been to a local bridal shop and got a stunning dress in the sale, but I have had to borrow the money to enable me to do this.

I would not recommend buying from Jen Jen House as the quality is shocking!:(
