Recommend an iva comapny

Hi all , a useless idiot here who's got into 1 big mess with finances for various reasons etc . I am now in the postition where I think I need to embark on an IVA . I pay all my debts every month I have never missed a payment but I am just worried the inevitable is about to happen . My debt totals £23000 and I think an IVA is the only answer to pay it off, so could you please recommend me an IVA company that you are happy with , thank you .

    Hi,

I understand where you are coming from I was £30k in debt. I am with Payplan and have been very happy with them, but, I would only do it as a last resort if you have no other way of handling your finances. Read through here and you will get a feeling who to try as well phone a few up and see which one works for you.

    All the best

    Aidan
  • I would suggest that you speak to a few IVA providers so you can find one that you are most comfortable with.

Melanie Giles is highly recommended if you search the internet you will find goods reviews about her and her team.

    Hello Gray S.

Welcome to the Money Saving Expert forums. Sorry to learn about your situation. IVAs can be a an excellent option for many people to help with their debt situations. Prior to signing up it's vital to ensure that you undertake plenty of research to ensure that an IVA is right for you. For example if you are a homeowner what the impact would be? If you are not a homeowner would Bankruptcy be a cheaper and faster option?

Whoever you chose to contact please ensure that they provide you with 'holistic' advice to ensure that you are made aware of all options available to you. This way you'll be sure to make an informaed choice as to the best option for you. If it is an IVA then ensure you consider an Insolvency Practitioner that adheres to the 'IVA Protocol' - the majority of the more well known organisations do, Payplan included.

Remember that an IVA will last for at least 5 years, do ensure to the best of your abilities that you'll be able to meet the payments for the duration.

    Best wishes,

    National Debtline.

  • I'd ring around a few IPs to first of all see if an IVA is the way to go as it is a massive step with serious and long lasting implications.
I was with with Grant Thornton and found them fantastic.
  • I'm with CCCS. And they are wonderful.

I can't speak highly enough of them!
