Santander Company Debit Cards

I am having a continuing battle over the use of my Santander Debit card which is for my very small company.
Nearly every site I visit and try to purchase something comes up with Verify by Visa, the trouble arises when it seems to think the card is issued by Alliance & Leicester.
I have an unresolved problem logged at Santander and in fairness the guy there spent an hour on the phone with me trying to find the problem, I should say they rang me so the call didn't cost me anything.
Sage seem to have a get out on their sites with a very discreet button to override any problems.I have written to the CEO at Worldpay, any bets on the answer?
What I would like to do is find out if other people are experiencing this same problem, Please do not go off on a tangent simply answer the question do you have the same problem with verify by visa?:T
