fees for Scottish students and gap year(s)

My daughter is 19 and has been working in London for 6 months. She likes her job and is considering remaining working for another few years before uni.

I am resident in Scotland and my daughter was born and bought up here. She lived here constantly until having to move south to get work 6 months ago.

How long can she live outside Scotland before she loses the right to have to her fees paid?

You can read the rules here, but I've got to say that it's not totally clear to me what would happen in your daughter's case. It might be worth ringing to SAAS to get a more informed answer.

Thank you for the link. It was unclear to me too. I have found a phone number and will phone them tomorrow.

Just a wee update to help anyone that might be in the same position. I phoned SASS and they said that while my daughter is under 25 funding is based on my residency, so she is ok for funding.
