Linking lap top to home hub

Techie experts,wonder if you can help,i must state i no nothing about computers lol.My lap top had a new hard drive put in it but we can not link it back into the home hub all other computers and iphone working fine from the home hub !!Many thanks

If you use wifi click the wireless link in start and input the password on the hub

it`s unable to link to the internet
Screen says "Windows tried a repair but problem still exists

Could be a problem with network router or broadband modem but we switched it off and that didnt sort it

offered to get us automatically get new IP settings for network ,so we did that still nothing changed
Last option it offered reset network adapter did that still nothing arr so frustrating but thanks for your help much appreciated !
