hi. so my laptop has given up the ghost, and its time to get a new one. was wondering whether anyone had any recommendations?
i'm looking for something smallish, probably 13 inch because i'll be commuting to uni everyday come september and i need to be able to carry it reasonably easily.
i was looking at one of the acer aspire s ultrabooks, is about my pricerange, quite light and portable and seems to have everything but i'm not really technologically minded.
was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations. only need it for essays, internet browsing and itunes tbh, so hardly a lot!
thanks for any help and sorry for poor typing etc, using my tablet for this is not fun!

You seem to be budgeting for a fairly powerful laptop but without any apparent need for that much processing power.
Had you considered something like the HP DM1 - slightly smaller screen at 11.6 inches, but correspondingly lighter and easier to carry. Mine cost £270 a couple of months ago, though I did spend another £80 on an SSD to upgrade the conventional hard disk.0 -
have a certain amount to spend, voucher kinda things i guess so might as well get as much as i can. i think a 13 inch screen is the smallest i'd go, i had a eeepc and it was just too uncomfy to sit and write essays on after a while.0

What's wrong with it? Laptops rarely just die....most things are fixable. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
