EasyCap Unlead Studio problems

I am finally trying to transfer my homeshot VHS tapes onto DVD using EasyCap direct to my tv and bought the cables as suggested on my last thread here (thanks).

The tv programme shows in the viewing box on Unlead Studio, but when I play the video recorder, although the video shows on my tv, the Unlead Studio viewing box just goes blank.
I am using Windows XP and connect the video to the TV on a scart to scart.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong please?

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I've got an easycap, think you HAVE to record them to AVI on the pc first, then burn to dvd.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

Thanks for your reply.
I was planning to put them on my hard drive first, but I can't get them onto my pc.
Is AVI the setting you used?
I followed this tutorial, which I found on the Unlead site, but I still can't get the VHS tapes onto my pc.
