I wonder if someone could advise me regarding a problem I am having.
I have quite an old Toshiba laptop. A few months ago I had problems with it, and was advised the only thing to try was re-boot it and use the original disc I got with it to start up again. Luckily this worked, but for some reason I didn't get the option - I think it was called Microsoft Works? - which I used for letters, spreadsheets etc. and would like to get this back.
I mainly use the laptop for emails/ websites etc and am not very savvy regarding technical stuff, so an idiot-proof reply would be much appreciated.

Works is carp anyway, you're better off with Open Office
http://www.openoffice.org/product/index.html
It does everything Works did and is a full suite of Office applications, and it's free.

Thank you very much Apples2 - I'm downloading it at the moment, and looking forward to trying it out.0
