Blue Badge parking in private land

Anybody else notice that the ticket machines in private land car parks eg out of town retail parks are no where near the disabled parking bays?
I have never had a problem with paying for parking it'sjust the fact the machines are almost always situated away from disabled bay areas.
Or is it just me who thinks this?

Err, the Blue Badge Scheme does not apply in private car parks - check your handbook/issuing authority website.

Its the Equality Act that applies here, so yes if you need to park closer to the machines (or even park to pay) as a "reasonable adjustment" then yes, the stores/park operators have to accommodate - and that applies to any disabled person, BB-holder or not. :)

I dont see your point. Just park nearer a machine then.

Or, if you need to disabled space because its wider then stop at the machine and buy the ticket before you park if the few extra yards are really that bothersome.

There is nothing to stop you parking up and purchasing your ticket, then driving to your designated bay.

You guys could be a little more sympathetic?

It might be easy for one of the walking wounded but I imagine it would be quite a struggle for a wheelchair user to park close to a machine get out, buy a ticket, get back in and repark in a disabled access bay.

I would suggest OP uses one of the mother and child places. They always seem to be far more conveniently positioned.
