Hi sunven12, any advise for the interview please? Have mine tomorrow. Thanks mate. All the best
Hi. Its a competency based interview. Questions like have you worked in a team before, have you worked with people from different backgrounds, how will you get to work and make sure you are on time. Very easy just make sure you give answers to all the questions. Best of luck0 -

Just a heads up most of you guys will be training on the 494 for D7A however some will be joining me in the discovery body shop ! Perhaps the easiest part of the whole site !!
If I was you I would wish for that. T&F 2 is going to be hectic0 -
After my face to face I waited about 3/4 weeks0

That wasnt by any chance Richard at Halewood was it? Same thing happened to us. Nothing allowed to be left in the break area, and nothing allowed to be kept on the line, yet we have not been issued with lockers. :rotfl:
But 1 week in and im enjoying it a lot!
I think its perfectly reasonable to expect you to not go to the toilet for 2 hours at a time, just dont overdrink, and you are sweating buckets (well I am), which normally means you dont need the toilet anyway. There are plenty of jobs where they would get annoyed at constantly having to cover you to go to the toilet. As an exception yes they will, but dont make a habbit out of it.
Absolutely everything at JLR boils down to productivity and quality. If you can not manage both at the same time, you wouldnt last very long. I was surprised at the work rate, keeping up with the line while learning a job is a real struggle, but once you get the flow, it becomes quite easy. Ive just learnt my second job on day 4 from starting.
With regards to the summer shut down, it is 2 weeks, but Manpower told us we would probably be off for 4 or possibly even 5 weeks unpaid (Halewood). And nearly all of the new starters got put on permanent day shifts until the shut down, which means they are only on £10 an hour. I got extremely lucky and with a few others got put straight into a shift patern which means we get the shift allowance taking us up to £13.220
