Wednesday 28th March - What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today??!!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Morning all!

Need to get to work early today so figured I'd start us off!

Today I will:
Check banks
Check CCs - see if payments cleared!
Check TCB
Transfer money owed to friend
Update MS Money
Buy birthday present for friend
LSD - other than above (budgeted), 'need' to buy lunch at work today, but will go for cheapest option!
Drive economically
Read the newsletter!
Pop to Mr T's on the way to work to buy cheap radio for office - avoid doughnuts!
Log calories using free tracker
Some form of exercise tonight, either bike or cross trainer

Think that's my lot, have a great one everyone!

    Morning Peeps!

Thanks kjp for starting the thread! :D

OK, my list for today is:

    - Bring in own lunch (I went for egg salad and cucumber sandwiches with a yoghurt & some fruit today!)
    - Bring the cucumber home as they are cleaning the fridges at work on Friday morning, and I'll forget otherwise!
    - Eat the extra apple I have at the office (it was my mid afternoon snack for yesterday, but I was busy and forgot to eat it!)
    - Order a Birthday card for brother (1st April is the day) on Moonpig (too late to send anything from here)
    - OH is cleaning/wiping the old laptop for me today! :D
    - Post other items on Ebay
    - Prepare lunch for tomorrow (veg soup)
    - Have a nice home made meal for dinner (from stores)
    - Do some clothes washing
    - Do some dish washing
    - Put clean clothes away
    - Hoover the rugs in living room and in kitchen
    - Sweep floors
    - Dig out the hayfever tablets, as it seems to have started already
    - NSD!!! (I have nothing to buy, and have so far resisted the temptation to get a diet coke - it's worse than giving up fags!)
    - As with Bt1, aim to drink lots of water (instead of nasty, evil diet coke)

OK, I think that's enough for today. I hope everyone is well, and has a chance to enjoy this beautiful weather! :D

    x

ETA: Congrats Bt1 on your bonus and for clearing a CC! It feels awesome when you're able to do that! Enjoy it and use it as motivation to keep going :)

Also - need to get new passport sorted before July! So, today's task is - looking into how, where & costs.

Card for brother's B'day has been ordered! So, not really a NSD, but LSD. And.....it was budgeted for, and came in under budget! :D

Morning, sorry been absent but life has been madness verging to full on lunacy here.

Managed to give myself a proper _pale_ moment by duplicating a debit to go out of the account next week and then panicking as to how I would find the money to cope and how I managed to miscalculate that badly. :rotfl:

    Here we go, I will:
    check bank accounts
    charge phones at work
    free lunch from work
get paid to drive car back home (work has to be done on way)
    activate new credit card
have to fill up with fuel so not NSD but planned LSD

Feeling smug as had major sort out and filing session after rectifying the spreadsheet error and study is now very clean (well if you ignore the HUGE pile of ironing that is growing in the corner):(
    Start info Dec11
    H@lifax [STRIKE]£13813.45[/STRIKE] paid Sep14 paid 23 months early :T
    Mortgage [STRIKE]£206400[/STRIKE] £199750 Mortgage £112500
    B@rclays £[STRIKE]25000[/STRIKE] paid 4 years 5 months early. S@ntander £[STRIKE]9300[/STRIKE] paid 2 years 2 months early
    2013 8lb lost 2014 need to lose 14lb. Lost 4 so far!;)

Payday so move money in to various pots and uPdate spreadsheet.
Food delivery later, used free slot, stuck to meal plan
    Food from stores for tea
Washing on when I get home, dry In the sun :D
    Update weight loss app

    Eighth Anniversary Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all! Great news bt1!

    + Checked banking
+ Moved bits of money around
+ Spoke to insurance and they confirmed our claim is approved. So relieved! :j I do have to find the money to cover the excess, of course.
+ Trying the mega mince batch bake recipe today! I'm excited :T
+ Going to the cinema later (free! unless I buy a snack :o)
+ Trying really hard for a NSD. Doing lots of housework to take my mind off spending money :rotfl:

I'm loving the EEBA app for iPhone someone mentioned on here. If you budget with envelopes it's fab for tracking spends!
