Hello all,
My boyfriend has gone on holiday and left me (a complete ebay virgin!!)
in charge of a few things he is selling on ebay, most importantly a handbag that has sold for £354. I recieved this email from the buyer;
'I'm trying to make the payment (£354) for the bag but for the
first time ever, paypall is not giving the authorisation as I have
exceeded my limit. I did give my bank details to them to take the
money direct from my account but in my ebay page your bag is
still showing as 'Pay now''.
Please, give advice.
Thanks '
What do I say??? I hope someone can help!!!
Many thanks in advance

Do you have access to his paypal account?
If you can get in, you'll see whether this item has been paid for. It sounds as though it hasn't.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Hi,frivolous fay
Thanks for your reply, I have access to his paypal account, no payment has been made, What shall I say?0 -
Say something like...
I have not received payment yet. I will re-send the invoice for you to try again, I'll let you know when payment has come through.
(This is assuming an invoice was already sent)
If you click on the item, there should be the option to re-send the invoice. My TV is broken!

It doesn't sound like the buyer has completed the Expanded Use Enrollment.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

She's emailed me now to say that its exceeding her paypal limit, which she wasn't aware she had. Should I email her the account details and ask her to transfer without paypal or is that a very silly idea indeed??!!!0

you could ask her to send a postal order instead.
thatll be very safe.Get some gorm.0 -

a bank transfer for the sellers point of view is ideal, no paypal fees...and no possibility of the buyer doing a paypal chargeback.
just depends how savvy the buyer is, for them, paying that way, they wont be covered under paypal buyer protection....0 -
I would be careful. One thing I always do is to thoroughly check out the buyers history before doing anything. Especially if I am suspicious!
Tell the buyer of your intensions and / or what you expect of him / her - comunication is key to make sure things run smoothly from here on also make sure everything is cleared before you send the item off!0 -

I have plenty of spare socks and I don’t leave my girlfriend behind when I go on holiday.
Except the boys annual skiing trip of course.
And the footie and rugby tours.
And the occasional stag weekend.
