Hi, Ive got a very old GeForce 7300GT 256mb graphics card which unfortunately is falling apart literally, held together by extra screws etc and not really safe, monitor lead keeps falling out etc etc...

By chance for my birthday a kind relative has given me a code for Amazon for 30 pounds. Not a lot but this one Ive seen looks better than mine. Can anyone tell me if it is.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-GeForce-8400GS-Super-PCI-E/dp/B0047EGV30/ref=sr_1_32?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1332895697&sr=1-32

I cant afford to add to this so 30 is my limit.

Here is my system specs to help

Microsoft XP SP3
4gb DDR2 memory
AMD phenom core X4 9500 motherboard socker AM2+

You can consider the Radeon HD 5450. Also here too, as it performs better. Unless you need a specific function of the Nvidia card.

Thanks didnt see that one, Im a bit worried about the lack of cooling though. There isnt much room for another fan to cool it either.

I use a similar model. If it's a standard size tower it should be ok.

If it's any help I used the HD5450 in one of these...

    Acer AX3810

There's no room what-so-ever and it does get warm. I'm not a PC gamer and use this machine for web design, graphics packages, basic video & audio editing, and general office use. While warm it doesn't tend to get hot.

I used the same card in my son's PC using a standard midi-tower case and his temperatures barely flicker.

Radeons run cooler than Geforces. they tend to use alot less power also.
