Macbook pro next launch?

After much saving, putting off, and dawdling I am crossing to the dark side. I AM going to get a Macbook Pro, 15 inch, but the question is not if but WHEN.
Now for example ipads relaunch in March, so is the Macbook cycle as consistent. I dont want to get one, then the new one be released a couple of weeks later. So when is the next lot due, as I've waited this long so can wait some more.

Rumour has it that the new MacBook Pro could be released as soon as next month. They are supposed to be thinner and lighter than current models and will be either 13" or 15".

Next month was being touted as the soonest for a new model but it may be in the summer to coincide with the release of the next OS X version, Mountain Lion.

Like all rumours this could just be that and Apple always do things their way so who knows.

Here's the buyer's guide that's very useful for all things Apple that EVERYONE should check before buying one. No-One KNOWS when it'll be replaced, but looking at the past cycles can help decide whether to buy or wait. But it can be a long few weeks/months!!
We're on day 156 since an update and the average is 267 days. I'd say if you're in no rush at all, wait. The next ones might have retina displays, and might lose the optical drive, so that might help you decide...

Think Apple releases new music/phones at the start of the year, and PC refreshes in late summer.

You usually hear of an "Apple Event" 2 months before it happens so if you haven't heard anything by now then it looks like July/August time for the refresh.

I'd get one now. if you wait you'll just keep waiting...

Rumour has been that the launch is all linked to the Ivy Bridge processors coming from Intel and there has certainly been some delay on them but the rumours are contradictory over if it is all versions of them or just certain ones.

If you are a power user then the new processors on paper look worth waiting for. If you just surf the net etc then it may not be worth the wait
