Hi,
I regietered a Ltd company to protect its name being used by anyone else. A few weeks after i registered it i recieved a letter from HM Revenue & Customs. Included in the letter was a Corporation Tax New Company Details Form CT41G.
As i was not trading under the comapny/didnt know when the company was going to start i sent a letter to the local tax office here in Coventry. I got a letter about 3 weeks ago saying that they have not heard a reply from me so i sent out the same letter again saying that i was not trading under the comapny/didnt know when the company was going to start. Its been two around 3 weeks since sending the 2nd letter and i still have not heard anything.
Should i ring them up?
Thanks;)

3 weeks is nothing for them to deal with a "non standard" item of correspondence - you should have filled in their CT41G, putting "not yet known" in the relevant boxes but filling in most of what you could - then it would have been passed to the data entry clerk who would enter what you put on. By writing a letter, it bypasses the data entry clerk and goes to a higher grade administrator who probably has a much greater backlog. With the HMRC it is better to do exactly as they ask - they can't seem to cope with anything "non standard" very well - presumably it goes into the "too difficult to bother with" tray.0

File with compaines house that your company is dormant and you will not get any letters then.Kind Regards
