Third Party Involvement on Final Bills in Rental Property

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to me. I have just left a rented property and the Letting Agents instructed a third party (I didn’t know any of this until now) to instruct the utilities when I moved in twelve months ago and when I left a couple of months ago.
I contacted all the utilities immediately when I left and paid immediately and now I am getting bills forwarded that are incorrect as:
They have the wrong dates on.
They have the wrong address on (one not even provided by me to the Utility Companies)
Some have the wrong meter readings/information.
I am a bit annoyed as I did not agree to this or sign anything, and I have checked the Tenancy Agreement and there’s nothing on there and as far as I am concerned I have settled the final bills.
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience just to share my frustrationJ

Stick to your guns - write to the utilities ad tell them what you have told us
that unknown to you, the Letting Agent instructed a 3rd party
that you disagree with their input
that you did not want their involvement
that you will settle for your readings and your dates as already advised - and reiterate the informationHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thank-you for your reply - I will do.0

What 'third party' has been instructed? Curious, as I have never ever heard of this before. And no, deal with utilities yourself. How odd...0

Unbeknown to me the Letting Agent used a 'middle man' to pass on all the information to all the utility companies.
That is apparently all this third party company does – but with data protection you would have thought I would have had to give permission really for my details to be used in that way. Possibly fair enough if Letting Agents pass on information at the beginning and end of tenancies (though I am still not too happy about that) but for all my info to be passed unknown to a company I have never heard of and wouldn't have used myself makes me very uncomfortable,it also makes my life difficult if the information passed is wrong!!0
