I want to buy some! but there seem to be so many types out there(M&S, Trinny and Susannah, Spankies etc etc) I want it for massive support to my stomach, I don;t want to spend loads of money when I should of got others so any advice welcome.
I am hopefully having a gastric band so my stomach will be shrinking but I don't want to warm my knees with my stomach if you know what I mean.

I purchased some M&S ones from Ebay for about £5 BIN and £2 shipping. Well worth it! Was perfect for holding in my wombly tummy after I gave birth."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0

I have always used m& s ones - they have lots of different types, I prefer thefirm hold ones with legs ! ( sucks my thighs in too ).
However the one thing I would say is I can find them quite restricting and dont like to wear them a lot - only for specaloccassions .0 -
M&S for me too - and totally agree with Cat72, best for special occasions, they're not comfortable for long periods.0

M & S foe me too, I generally wear the old granny bloomers with legs to firm up my thighs but I have a pair of the super-high waisted ones for wearing under dresses, they were fab in those post-baby wobbly months:D. On special occasions I have been known to wear both pairs at once in the hope of achieving an hour-glass silhouette:rotfl::rotfl:
Don't be tempted to buy smaller than your actual size though, they will just roll up/down at the necessary bits! I wear mine most days, found they were a LOT more comfortable once I bought my real size rather than my dream size! (Why on earth do they make them in a size 10? To encourage the myth that you can never be too thin??!)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
i've got some in asda before, approx £6. i find them just as good as the others (i've quite a collection)
they're just so damn uncomfortable but sometimes needs must.
to quote victoria wood " us real mothers carry our stomachs over our arm"
edit to say:have you seen those full body ones, they're just about neck to calf, they look like a wetsuit, think that was m&s0 -
I bought some off one of the shopping channels after having my youngest. This gave me the option of trying them out and being able to send them back if I wasn't entirely satisfied.
There were 5 pairs in the pack, I kept 2 sold the rest on eBay and made more money than I paid for them!
RESULT!

I have one word... Spanx
buy from tightsplease or mytights or some are available on figleaves - check the size chart carefully as it's not obvious what size to go for and look at the high waisted ones that have a strap that loops the bra for max support or the high waisted tights are very good too0 -
I can recommend Spanx too. Not the most comfortable but they definately give the best results. I think I paid £22 from John Lewis. I know they'd be cheaper on ebay or even QVC but I needed them in a hurry after having my DD and an invitation to a posh do

Oobedoo, thank you for asking this, I've been looking for some like this to go underneath my wedding dress and having no luck given that my bum is too big to wedge into any in the shops!
Justie and Girl, you're both stars I have just ordered some Spanx from Tightsplease (via Pigsback for the points!) they were just what I've been looking for, they even claim that they will fit me so yay! Thanks you so much :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
I agree with the other posters - M&S are great for day-wear, just make sure your buy the right size (let's not lie to ourselves ladies
)
But for evening and special events - spanx
