No reply from HSBC

Hi,

I have a credit card with HSBC. I've requested a copy of the terms & cond. from them with a cheque for £1. They have taken the money from out of my bank account but I've not recieved anything through the post. The money was taken out on the 24th Feb so it has been 5 weeks now. Should I write to them again & if so what should I put in the letter?

Thank you in advance
Chef Dan.

Do you think you need this in order to complain about mis-sold PPI? If this is the case, then all you need are the account numbers (which will be on your monthly statement) and legitimate reasons for complaint which you can read about here

Just ignore the bit about requiring the terms and conditions if you have no paperwork.

Also, be aware that the Bank won't send you details of terms and conditions for closed accounts.
  • Thanks for the quick reply, the reasons for wanting the terms was that I don't know if I had ppi with my credit card. I'm still using the card but I've had this account since around 2001 & it's still active. Why would they take the money from my account but not send me the terms?

Probably just a delay, although some have experienced problems with their card being suspended as a result of asking for terms and conditions which the Bank cannot provide any longer. If this happens to you, quickly tell them the reason you want the information is not because you want to take them to court!
Better to look on your statements for 'payment cover', a 'protection plan', 'ASU', 'card protection', 'card care' or similar. If you're unsure, contact the card company and ask, they won't lie if you do have it.
