I wonder if anyone can advise.
I have found really cheap tickets from London to Birmingham but I live between the 2. Could I buy the ticket and join the train later or is this not allowed?
We wont be using a station that has a ticket barier btw.
Thanks
You need to give far more detail.
What train are the tickets for and on what date and time. Which station were you hoping to board the train at.0 -
I've never found this to be a problem, but it does depend on the type of ticket you're purchasing (which you can see on the website where you've found the ticket)
All the below is taken from the National Rail Enquiries site: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/ticket_types/
Advance ticket: According to the Ts and Cs, you must travel the exact journey shown on the ticket, and so aren't allowed to start later. In practice I think you'd be fine.
Off-peak (or super off-peak) ticket: According to National Rail Enquiries - "You may start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station along the route of travel on Off-Peak tickets unless the ticket restriction for the journey you are making does not allow it."
Anytime ticket: According to National Rail Enquiries -"You may start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station along the route of travel."A caped crusader of awesome consumer justice! :cool2: :beer:0 -

u need to b careful with that one if u get a grumpy conductor or revenue bloke he could make you pay the full single fare as ur breaking the conditions of the ticket. there is a way around this but need to know ur start station.Fares Advisor & Oyster Specialist - Newdeal/ukRail Fares Workshop Accredited0 -

If you can tell us how much the ticket is then we might be able to work out which ticket it is and advise accordingly.0
